The Third North Bucharest Investments Cup: Investing in the Future of Romanian Sport Alongside Academia Mutu
Vlad Musteață, founder and CEO of North Bucharest Investments, and Adrian Mutu brought together 14 teams of young footballers for the third North Bucharest Investments Cup, held from 26 to 28 October 2026 in București. Featuring 40 matches, the competition reaffirmed both partners’ commitment to education through sport, nurturing talent and supporting the development of younger generations.
Achievement begins with the opportunity to discover your talent and with people who give you the confidence to keep going. Guided by this belief, North Bucharest Investments and Academia Mutu have concluded the third North Bucharest Investments Cup, an initiative that brings business and competitive sport together around a shared goal: helping children develop through sport.
Held over three days, the competition for children born in 2017 brought together 14 teams for 40 matches in an event centred on talent, discipline, teamwork and fair play. The official opening took place on 26 October, attended by Adrian Mutu, founder of Academia Mutu, and Vlad Musteață, founder and CEO of North Bucharest Investments. Through their partnership, both reaffirmed the importance of private-sector involvement in creating opportunities for future generations.
For Adrian Mutu, supporting youth football is a natural extension of his experience in elite sport and an opportunity to pass on the values that build character and shape a champion’s mindset.
“In football, talent matters enormously, but it is never enough on its own. Behind every champion are years of hard work, discipline and people who believed in them. No champion develops alone. That is what we want to build through Academia Mutu: an environment where children have the chance to grow, learn and discover their potential.
I am delighted to have North Bucharest Investments alongside us and that, together, we can turn this vision into real opportunities for young footballers. For me, what matters most is that every child leaves the pitch with greater self-confidence and the desire to improve,” says Adrian Mutu.

For North Bucharest Investments, supporting the competition reflects a vision of social responsibility that extends beyond real estate, placing education, human capital development and community involvement at its heart.
“I believe a company’s true value is also reflected in the legacy it leaves beyond its business results. We build partnerships and invest in projects with a long-term outlook, but few investments can have a greater impact than those we make in children. Sport teaches them courage, the importance of working towards what they want, and the understanding that success does not happen overnight.
This is the third North Bucharest Investments Cup, and I want to see this initiative grow year after year. Because it is not just about football; it is about the generation we are helping today to have confidence in the future,” says Vlad Musteață.
The third North Bucharest Investments Cup brought together young footballers, coaches and families for an event where competitive spirit went hand in hand with the joy of taking part and the values of sport.

CSA Steaua, CSS6, Alma Sibiu, Super Star, Inter Galaxy, FC Voluntari, Kinder Târgoviște, Progresul Spartac, Decarii, FCSB, CS Oxigen2, New Stars, Sport Team and Academia Mutu were invited to the competition. The involvement of football clubs and academies from București and other cities across the country added to the diversity of the competition, giving young athletes the opportunity to play in a competitive environment, face new opponents and gain experience.
The awards ceremony on 28 October brought the three days of competition to a close, celebrating the young participants’ effort, determination and progress. Beyond rankings and trophies, every match offered a lesson in perseverance, respect, collaboration and self-belief.

Now in its third edition, the North Bucharest Investments Cup reflects the continuity of a partnership that combines experience in elite sport with private-sector involvement in an initiative dedicated to the community.

For North Bucharest Investments, a company specialising in real estate investment and brokerage, supporting youth sport reflects a commitment to contributing to community development and investing in the potential of younger generations beyond its core business activities.
Above all, the North Bucharest Investments Cup is about giving every child the chance to believe in their own potential. Because before we can develop champions, we must create opportunities.
